AOC claims Pelosi’s targeting is due to racism

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez suggested Wednesday that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi dislikes her because Pelosi is racist.

The freshman congresswoman has repeatedly spoken poorly of Pelosi in recent media appearances, but Wednesday’s accusation takes the cake. Ocasio-Cortez told The Washington Post, "When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm's distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood. But the persistent singling out . . . it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful . . . the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color."

These “women of color” Ocasio-Cortez is referring to are Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York — far-left congresswomen who have often been vocal in their criticism of Pelosi and other moderates.

Ocasio-Cortez’s latest criticism of the Speaker of the House comes after Pelosi was hard on her caucus Wednesday, telling them in a closed-door meeting to stop the infighting and work together to pass legislation.
