AOC Claims 'World Ending in 12 Years' and 'Like 10 People' Were Jokes

Over the weekend, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that her tax-the-rich scheme only applied to “like ten people,” but she now claims that her comments were only a joke. She also tweeted that her previous statement about the world ending in 12 years was sarcastic.

According to National Review, the tone Ocasio-Cortez used in her earlier comments did not sound humorous.

“‘I was just kidding haha’ is a strange stance for someone seemingly as earnest and determined as Ocasio-Cortez...She didn’t seem to be kidding when on March 29 she said dramatically and with great emphasis on MSNBC, ‘We’ve got 12. Years. To turn it. Around….when we actually finally pass something, it is a wimpy carbon tax and our kids are doomed.’”

AOC's tone does not sound like “dry humor and sarcasm,” but apparently Ocasio-Cortez does not take the American people seriously. This begs the question: should the American people take her proposals seriously?
