AOC’s office denies staged photos

Fox News reported Thursday morning that the office of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez denied the staging of the congresswoman’s photos near a migrant detention center.

After photographer Ivan Pierre Aguirre posted the “previously unpublished” photos on his Twitter account and AOC retweeted them, her tweet was called out as appearing to be staged.

The pictures of Ocasio-Cortez with her hands covering her face or bent over in pain were ridiculed, as “there was no sight of actual migrant children during the protest” reported Lukas Mikelionis at Fox News.

Ocasio-Cortez’s office did not immediately respond to an email from Fox News, but a spokesman told The Hill, “I cannot control what kind of right-wing garbage shows up on the bottom of the posts.” He also claimed that allegations that the photos were staged are "in no way related to reality or truth."

One Twitter user shared another angle of the congresswoman at the protest, where she looked at an empty road with a few cars.
