A fellow New York congressman has challenged Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) saying that her green new deal is a lie to voters, he also dared her to run someone against him in a primary.
Rep. Max Rose (D-NY), who won an upset victory on Staten Island last year, called the Geen New Deal a “massive socialist” program and “a lie to voters.”
Fox News reports that he also said, “This is not the time for milquetoast incrementalism,” he said. “It just isn't. But with that being said, nothing about what I just said would provide a justification for a massive socialist economic policy platform. Just not needed.” He dismissed the Green New Deal goals, such as job and housing guarantees, as economically unfeasible, saying the proponents of the deal are lying to voters.”
Congressman Rose is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan and a Purple Heart recipient. While it’s rare, it’s nice to see a Democrat that isn’t ashamed to love their country and isn’t afraid to welcome a primary from someone that disagrees.
