Economists predict a Trump win in 2020

In his recent New York Times commentary "Trump’s Formidable 2020 Tailwind," Steven Ratner, counselor to the Treasury secretary in the Obama administration, cited three different modelers that each claim Trump will win the 2020 election because of a “large tailwind.”

Economists such as Yale professor Ray Fair have studied growth rates of gross domestic product, inflation, and incumbency as “economic indicators” of presidential election outcomes, and all point to Trump’s reelection.
The other two economists Ratner cited, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics Mark Zandi, and Donald Luskin of Trend Macrolytics, have reached the same conclusion in their examination of the Electoral College and at least 12 other models.
While the Democratic party looks to impeach Trump in his first term, economists indicate that Trump could secure another term.
