Congressman Devin Nunes, the Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, says eight criminal referrals will be sent to the Department Of Justice (DOJ) this week for their actions in the scandal known as Russiagate.
On Sunday Nunes told Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo that five of the criminal referrals being sent are for misleading Congress and three more for leaking classified information globally, and conspiring to abuse the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) by knowingly using false information to obtain secret warrants from the FISA Court.
These warrants were issued on the basis of a dossier that is now known to be false. The dossier was thought to be compiled by a former British intelligence officer as opposition research for Hillary Clinton’s campaign and was paid for By the campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) through their law firm Perkins Coie and their vendor Fusion GPS.
Nunes further noted that some referrals could eventually name as many as two dozen individuals involved with the “global leaking...”
It’s unclear if Clinton’s campaign and the DNC ran this opposition research through the law firm and the consulting firm as a way to cover their connection to the dossier or to avoid listing it as a direct campaign expenditure on their FEC reports.
Nunes further noted that some referrals could eventually name as many as two dozen individuals involved with the “global leaking” of classified information from the White House, and the abuse of the FISA Court.
“So many whistleblowers, great patriots have come forward,” said Nunes.
When told that former CIA Director, John Brennan, falsely suggested that President Trump’s actions were treasonous, Nunes responded that “Brennan is not right.”
Nunes emphasized the need to revisit the rules regarding security clearances for former members of our government. Noting that having former intelligence officials trashing the Commander in Chief in the media, as he's trying to run the country is not particularly helpful to our nation or its security.
In response to a question on the status of criminal referral that was already sent to the DOJ for former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Nunes reiterated that Congress did their part to hold hearings and pass along the evidence to the DOJ.
The DOJ Is in the branch of government with law enforcement capabilities adding, “Will justice be served or will justice be denied?”
The oversight hearings conducted by the House Intelligence Committee, which Nunes Chaired until earlier this year, discovered exculpatory evidence that was omitted by Democrats when lobbying allegations at Trump.
Two smart lawyers involved with the chain of custody of the alleged evidence and two high/ranking FBI officials that were once part of Mueller’s investigative team — Agent Peter Strzok and his mistress Attorney Lisa Page —were familiar with how the public was being misled and did nothing to stop it. Nunes notes that they are part of the group to be referred to the DOJ for Criminal prosecution.
The truth will soon be very clear. Nunes agreed with President Trump that the Mueller Report should be made public as well as the FISA warrant applications and anything else that started this politically-motivated investigation, to begin with.
