Despite the distraction provided by their feud with President Trump, the four congresswomen known as “The Squad” took their time Tuesday to warn Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi against “singling them out.”
After the House voted to formally condemn President Trump for his “racist” comments about the congresswomen on Twitter, the representatives sat down with "CBS This Morning" host Gayle King. King asked Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez if she was in communication with Pelosi — and whether that communication should be face-to-face.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib interjected to say that “she has every right to sit down with [Ocasio-Cortez] at any moment, any time with any of us. She is Speaker of the House. She can ask for a meeting to sit down with us for clarification."
"Acknowledge the fact that we are women of color,” Tlaib continued, “so when you do single us out, be aware of that and what you're doing, especially because some of us are getting death threats, because some of us are being singled out because of our backgrounds, because of our experiences and so forth."
Although the five Democrat women agree on their hatred for President Trump, it seems that is all they can unite over these days.
