In an effort to compromise with Democrats on the issue of immigration detention, the Trump administration is strongly considerating releasing detainees into sanctuary cities to alleviate overcrowding, President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter today.
"Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only. The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy – so this should make them very happy!"

This news comes as further proof that the White House and Trump administration are doing everything in their power to work with Democrats to secure the border. Despite the White House’s best effort, DHS led by then-secretary Kirstjen Nielsen rejected their proposal. It’s unclear whether the new acting Homeland Security Secretary, Kevin McAleenan, will reconsider this policy moving forward.
